Origin LS - Open Beta Thread

Happy Monday All!

Tomorrow marks the big day for Open beta. 7pm PST the flood gates will open and the likely craziness of trying to move from one spot will begin.

The plan will be as follows for those wishing to receive a Linkshell Pearl:

• I will be creating in Limsa and begin that process sometime after the 7pm PST open. After character creation and such, getting through the instanced areas to the 'real' inn.
  
• Starting at 8pm PST I will begin handing out Pearls (Allow people to get into the game, get situated, grab a few leve's etc, me to get the kids down >.> )
  
• I will be setting up shop in the open area near the Market Ward Teleport Zone. (This area should see less traffic as no one will have anything to be selling yet.)
  
• Also, hopefully the 'promote' functionality is working correctly and I can advance people to leaders so they can help distribute pearls.

A few things I need/would like to mention...

I need a few people who want to volunteer to run from Limsa with a pearl to the other starting cities. If you wish to give this a try, I will coordinate with you to recieve a pearl early so you can head out to the other cities. Not sure if the airships will be working or if they require a license/gil to use...but worth a shot to go check off the get go. Please Post here if interested and I will edit this post to direct people starting in other cities to contact you directly in game for a pearl.

Also, if your name isn't on the LINKSHELL LIST from the prior thread, please use this thread now for requests. (I am also updating that list page to direct to this thread.)

Those who become leaders and invite members you don't need to record your entries as I will update the list from the Linkshell Member list, however do try do ensure that at first we get everyone who has been a part of this amazing community first. There are only 128 spots available, which is decent amount, but I don't wont to pick up people on the street who log in once for beta then never come back and were never part of the Origin community (Seeing as how in B3 at least, we couldn't drop members without them being in the Creators presence >.>)

As always if anyone has any questions you can PM me here and I'll be happy to assist any way I can. For Tuesday's open I plan to be on till 10 PM handing out pearls and keeping up with forum and in game tells. (That /r command better be working >.<) After that do not panic. I'll keep the list update so people know who have leader/invite powers and you can seek them out in game for an invite should i not be on.

My wife and I would like an invite. I will be playing under Nicophorus Delphinorean and she will play as either Anari or Aela Delphinorean.

I think we will both start out of Ul'Dah. I believe we will be working primarily on harvesting/crafting during this round (we did a bit of everything last time).

Death race to the other cities! Could be interesting... I for one will be in Gridania for the open beta. For the official release I plan on starting in Ul'dah, but I wanted to experience the forest first.

I'll be starting in Ul'dah this time. I'm hoping that there will be boats active to access other areas or airships to go city to city right out the gate. Otherwise I'll try to find a way to LL and get a linkshell and hopefully give them to others starting in Ul'dah.

Yeah LL is only by boat i heard that...but there is an airship dock outside of town...I can't imagine its only going to be intra Continental ...maybe though...in which case I hope we can find a free boat ride for 3 token when we get going tomorrow

Sounds good. I plan to start in a different city, but at the very least we can learn the fastest routes for doing the same in commercial!

I'd be willing to join with the group trying to death race to Ul'dah. Trying to find my way to a city simply by knowledge of the overarching world map sounds fun. Once I get off the boat from Limsa to the mainland, I'll just start moving southeast.

Excellent Kyrie, I'll jot you down as a runner from LL to Ul'dah. I'll drop you a PM by tomorrow afternoon with the details . Ok..so I figure 2 n 2 would be good at least, so one more for LL -> Uldah and 2 more for LL -> Gridania

Edit: I'll be playing under Ars Cherubic or Rehab Circus, or some anagram variation of that.

Well if what we've seen in closed beta is any indication should be a pretty safe trip going between cities everything is pretty docile which I kind of like and with no sneak/invis to help out kind of needed. I really hope they keep the docile part of the game like this it's nice being able to run around with only a few mobs here and there that will kill you.
