Thread: My Little Lindblum Adventure

This is heading into my third week now and this will be my little topic of wild adventures, and massive lols due to be being a total newb to this game, and never having played FFXI. Frankly, the only reason I even started playing this game (beyond that I got it for Christmas), was that it was suddenly Free to Play!

Yay!

Now for some insanity, as a treat for my readers.

Alright, so -- I hit Rank 20 on my Archer a few days ago (boy, only an idiot starts the game as an archer in Gridania ... ohwait, or a newb) and I tried to take on my infamous Archer Quest for Rank 20. You know what I discovered?

... this game actually has an in-game quest. Like ... a storyline. LOL?! I hadn't finished the very first quest with the lady in the Adventurer's Guild, and the stupid emo boy, and the fact that ALL these kids can never remember who you are, as if you were hard to decipher (I'm a gigantic crimson Roe!?) -- and the moron who lights the tree on fire.

Yeah. Didn't know that existed. Lol. So I spent the better part of yesterday, watching boring cut-scenes, and freakin' ridiculous amounts of text scroll before my eyes to tell me:

a.) forest spirits and elementals DO exist
b.) lighting the forest on fire pisses elementals off
c.) moogles like clovers.
d.) I randomly/magically know mooglespeak already? My College is better than yours, apparently.
e.) I can name my companion C*ckSlobber and tell her No, and she laughs about it and comes with me anyways.

And that's about it. I had no idea that those quests were there, as I'm THAT new to the game, that at R20, I mowed through them and made about 130k, lol.
