Court in the Sands

Starting NPC: Yayatoki

Start off by speaking to Yayatoki and he will escort you to the Quicksand where you will automatically enter a cut scene with Momodi. After the cut scene you will be in an Instance (mode). Speak to the different NPCs and then when ready, speak to Momodi and select “Court in the Sands” from the dialog box. After the cut scene, you will obtain the NPC Linkpearl and your Journal will be updated. Time to head out to Camp Black Brush.

Head out through the Gate of Nald located in the North part of your map to Central Thanalan. Proceed North to Camp Black Brush (Check Map for location). Once you reach camp, head to the Aetheryte and open your Menu and select Aetheryte under Interactions. After doing so, check your NPC Linkpearl for a message from Momodi.

Click on the Aetheryte again and choose Initiate Levequest and choose Moles for the Mauling and then choose the difficulty level. If you are doing this alone, choose Solo.

Using the mini-map, proceed to the area to fight your Levequest mobs. You can tell which mobs are yours by the glowing red circles in the min-map and the also the notepad type icon next to the mobs names when you approach them.

After the battle, an Aetheryte will appear. Select it from the menu again to complete your quest and head back to Camp Black Brush using the free provided teleport. Your reward for doing this is 1000 gil.

After completing the Levequest, head back to Ul’dah and speak to Momodi at the Quicksand. You will need to speak to her twice. Note: always select the “Court in the Sands” option when given the choice.

After the dialog is over, check your NPC Linkpearl for where to go to next. Momodi tells you to head on over to Eshtaime’s Lapidaries (the Goldsmith guild) and see about selling that (key) Item you have. Speak to Elecotte once you enter the Goldsmith Guild. Niellefresne gives you 2000 gil reward.

After the cut scene with Elecotte is over, head over to the Coliseum (Gladiator’s Guild). You will get a cut scene with Yoyobina as soon as you enter the guild. After the cut scene you will enter an Instance. Speak to all the NPCs and when ready, proceed down the stairs to the door. Choose door from the Menu Interactions and select Yes for Duty Calls.

After the fight and cut scene, you will be in an Instance again. Speak to any NPCs and then proceed upstairs to enter the next cut scene. Once the cut scene is over, your Journal will be updated and Momodi is trying to contact you using the NPC Linkpearl with updated information where to go next.

Next stop, is Amanjina & Sons mineral Concern (Mining Guild), once there, speak to Linette. After the cut scene, you will be in an Instance. Speak to F’lhaminn (The cute Miqo'te) and then use the following emotes on her:

Furious
Beckon
Laugh
Deny
Upset
Soothe

Next, F’lhaminn tells you to use the emotes on the two miners. Go to the stage and target the Maddened Miner and use Beckon, Deny, and the Upset on him.

Next target the Manic Miner and use Furious on him.

After the cut scene is over you will be in an Instance again, speak to the NPCs and when ready, speak to F’lhaminn for the next cut scene. After the cut scene, head out to the Gate of Nald and meet with F’lhaminn to do an Escort quest with her to Camp Black Brush. Note: Don’t get too far behind or ahead of F’lhaminn or you may accidentally leave the Instance and have to restart it.

After the escort quest, you will be at Camp Black Brush and enter in to a cut scene, after the cut scene you will be in an Instance. Speak to NPCs and when ready, talk to Ascilia for the next cut scene. After the cut scenes are over, head back to the Miner’s Guild in town. Upon enter the guild you will get a cutscene with F’lhaminn. After the cut scene you will receive 3,000 gil reward and your Journal will be updated. Also, Momodi is trying to contact you via the NPC Linkpearl.

After speaking to Momodi, she tells you to head over to the Frondale’s Phrontistery. (The Alchemist Guild) Hint: Use the Map button in the Journal to see where to head to next. Speak to Nogeloix for the next cut scene. Next head to the Door and use the Menu to select the Door under Interactions. After the cut scene you will be in an Instance, speak to the NPCs if you wish and then proceed to the next Door for a cut scene.

After the cut scene, your Journal will be updated and Momodi will be contacting you via the NPC Linkpearl. She wants you to head back over to the Quicksand to see her. After seeing Momodi, she gives you a reward of 6,000 gil for all your hard work and the quest has ended.

You can only do the quests in the city you started in. so in your case only the main story quests in LL can be done, not other nations.

SE hasn't mentioned anything about the ability to change nations, but that could be something coming up later. The you can do each of those nation's quests. That was nice about FFXI, changing nations to do the new missions.

After waiting I did get bored so I issued a new Levequest and went to Camp Black Bush. After that I even tried to talk to Momodi and then went back to the Mining Guild to see if I have missed something. How do I re-enter the instance? I think I might of accidentally left it.

You leave the gate heading towards the Camp and will get a prompt about Duty Calls. Select yes, and you will be able to start the escort quest.

Wintersdance, I noticed during the first playthrough of this quest that when you are sent to the hospital ward (on a Hand of War character) that the head doctor complained that I had no alchemist knowledge. Im running my alchemist through as we speak to see if it changes that scenario.

Wow, that was disapointing. I was sadly mistaken that it would alter the storyline . There wasn't even a small variation in the dialouge for me being an alchemist.

@dorn284 - yeah, it has no bearing on the storyline if you have alchemy leveled up or not.
