Open Beta, Server Selection, and Racial Stats - Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy 14, FFXIV, FF14

I know we have all been waiting long enough, but FFXIV Open Beta has officially begun! I know you probably have lots of questions by now, so please refer to the following information. With enough luck, you will finally be ready to take Open Beta for a long-awaited test drive!

FFXIV Open Beta Registration

Just in case you don't know, Open Beta registration has gone live. Contrary to SE's statement, everybody (including CB testers) have to apply for it. Please click here and get in the game today!

Don't let the Annoying Error Message discourage you in any way. From here, just click the 'Apply' button, all the while praying you get directed to the desired registration link. With luck, you will be on your way to finishing the registration process in no time. If not, just be patient and keep clicking!

After you finally get through, SE will send you an e-mail, with a beta key attached. Follow the simple instructions, and you soon arrive in Eorzea!

New Server Names

Much to the dismay of the FFXIV Community, SE has decided to rename every last server in Open Beta. Here are the current ones you can select, courtesy of SE themselves.

New Racial Stats

Perhaps the biggest curveball SE has thrown this Open Beta (besides the delay, of course) is bestowing different stats upon the Eorzean races. Make sure you check the stats before finalizing your racial selection.

Hey Aspect, just wanted to let ya know you wrote FFXI Attributes instead of FFXIV.

Man....damn you varying stats, I thought because we could move things, we didn't have to worry about this.

From what I see, the stats don't really scale with level too much. Unless there is a severe curveball coming at later levels, it will be just a few different stat points, with the biggest difference coming from gear.

Yeah, but you know there will be those who no matter how small the point difference is will be stating "Oh, you should really main a 'blah blah blah'".

Damn you Elvaans and your lower vit this time around. I prefer the Wildwood, but at least the Duskwight have a 1 extra vit and 3 extra mnd.
