It is once again a great day for all Eorzean lore seekers! We managed to translate another piece of literature into modern day English!
Today, we proudly present to you the most diverse race of people you are ever likely to meet in FFXIV: The Hyur.
Diversity in Numbers
Strutting the largest population in Eorzea, the Hyur came from many surrounding lands in three great migratory waves. With them, they brought great technologies and complex philosophies spanning the known world. Upon arrival, the Hyur quickly became the driving force behind cultural advancement. Through this, they have also managed to continually be at the cutting edge of all technological advances, too.
One of the Hyur's greatest strengths is their broad variety of spoken languages and social organizations (i.e. guilds, universities, etc.) they have come to implement. These are just some of the many things that account for the Hyur's strong sense of personal freedom. Unfortunately, these great organizations have also severed rifts among even the strongest of Hyur allies.
Two very different groups of Hyur currently reside in Eorzea. The Midlanders have established themselves throughout Eorzea's lower elevations, while the Highlanders have long been residents of the mountainous terrain.
Midland Hyur
The Midland Hyur account for the majority of Eorzea's Hyur population. They can generally be found in every Eorzean city, and are as diverse as the lands they come from. Taught how to read and write at a young age, the Midlanders may very well be educated clan in the entire continent.
Highland Hyur
The Highlanders have derive their name by simply residing throughout Eorzea's mountainous regions. Compared to their Midland counterparts, the Highlanders are generally larger in build. It is quite rare to see Highland Hyur around these days, with the exception of the ones who managed to flee Ala Mhigo during the Garlean invasions. Nowadays, Highland Hyur are primarily known for working as mercenaries in all Eorzean city-states.
As always, it has been a great pleasure, lore seekers. If you can't wait for the next article, you are always more than welcome to revisit Limsa Lominsa.
By the way, the Hyur consider it rude not to comment after reading their literature, so why not leave one?
