When I first played FFXIV in Closed Beta, I found it very difficult to get settled in Eorzea. While the beautiful scenery and gorgeous cutscenes make everything seem very welcome and inviting, the lack of direction received after the opening events can make learning the game a very daunting task.

Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). Just like other games of this genre, you get to manage your character over a long period of time. In FFXIV, your character will eventually grow and change depending on how you play.
B. How long is a 'Long Time'?
That depends on how frequently you play FFXIV. Although the amount of time can only be speculated, it is safe to say it would take at least 400 hours to reach the maximum level with one discipline.
